Ground-Orbit Communications Unit
developed on the planet Duro, when the majority of the population fled the destruction of the planet's ecosystem for orbital cities, this communications device allowed domed settlements on Duro to talk directly with the orbital city above it. Initially, the GOCU line was used to communicate the status of the shield generators which protected the orbital cities. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy, the GOCU lines helped the New Republic maintain communications with the ground crews who were rebuilding the natural environment of Duro.
