Great Droid Revolution
an uprising of droids on Coruscant which occurred about 5,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, in which the Jedi Master Arca Jeth learned the technique of short-circuiting a droid by using the Force. Note that The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology indicates that the Great Droid Revolution occurred 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. After the rogue war droid HK-01 was finally captured, the Republic spent many years recovering from the attacks. Droid designers and manufacturers then turned to weapons developers to work on ion weapons that would shot-circuit a droid's electronic systems.
