an Old Republic Senator from Erigorm, Gopple was one of the Senators who believed in short-changing the Republic by compromising on various expenses, such as starships and their components. He came under heavy fire from the Republic's Navy, and from then-Admiral Jerjerrod specifically, for the poor state of the firepower it held.
