Howler
this reptilian creature was native to the jungles of Yavin 4. A small creature which stood less than a half-meter in height, the howler was distinguished by its long neck and the ear-shattering yell it used to hunt its prey. The sound created by the howler was essentially a sonic blast, which stunned prey into immobility. This allowed the small howler to attack and kill prey that was much larger than itself. (JKA)

one of Prince Xizor employees on Coruscant, Howzmin was originally a palace servant. Howzmin was a short, squat, bald-headed human with black, chrome-like teeth. He had a paging device implanted in his body, which Prince Xizor could secretly activate by triggering a sensor underneath his desk. Over time, as Xizor's trust in Howzmin grew, so did his stature. Hrakian
this near-human race was characterized by its orange skin, bushy eyebrows, and a ridge of feathery hair growing from the center of their foreheads to the nape of their necks. They were native to the planet Hraki. As a people, Hrakians were known to be adventurous and reliable, and displayed a stubborn perseverence when they were involved with an interesting task. However, they were also known to search for the simplest path to a solution, which often made them appear lazy or lackadaisical to other races. (CSWEA, GORW)

Hrakness, Choday
a native of Agamar, Hrakness was a graduate of the Imperial Academy, although he eventually joined the Alliance and became a Captain in the New Republic Navy shortly after the Battle of Endor. After Wraith Squadron captured the Night Caller, Choday and his crew were assigned to command the corvette. When the Night Caller was dispatched to assist in the defense of Talasea, when it was targetted by Apwar Trigit, Hrakness led his crew into battle. However, the corvette took heavy damage in the battle, and most of its command crew was killed. Among the dead was Hrakness, although he was survived by his second-in-command, Atril Tabanne. (WS)

this Vicon was a student at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, studying the ways of the Force as a contemporary of young Dooku, some 68 years before the Clone Wars. (LOJ)

Hrannik
this was one of the small group of Shamed Ones who lived beneath the surface of Coruscant, after the planet had been transformed into a likeness of Yuuzhan'tar. Hrannik was one of the few Shamed Ones who lived independently, away from groups like that led by Vuurok I'pan. Like the other Shamed ones, though, Hrannik believed that the Jedi Knights were not abominations, but saviors of the Shamed Ones and symbols of the new ideology which should be embraced by the Yuuzhan Vong. For this reason, their band remained small, in case they were captured by the Yuuzhan Vong warriors. This ensured that their small cult of Jedi followers would never be fully discovered. A determined individual, Hrannik spent much of her time bringing the message of the Jedi to other Shamed Ones, hoping to spread the knowledge of the Jedi to others. (FH1)

this Rodian soldier was one of the few female members of the Bomu clan to join the criminal operations of the Bomus, and worked for Zonnos the Hutt during the early years of the New Order. (TF)

the natives of this star system fought to maintain their freedom when an alliance of corporations tried to take control of the system, around the time of the Battle of Yavin. (GMR6)

Hreven Karsh
this Yuuzhan Vong warrior, a relative of Komm Karsh, was one of the few survivors of the Battle of Bastion. He was distinguished by the hasty way in which is ritualistic implants and scarring were done. Much of this vonduun crab armor - inserted at odd angles to give him a jagged outline - were still unhealed at the time of the Battle of Basiton. He was required to report directly to Supreme overlord Shimrra about the failure to capture the Imperial Remnant, as well as to report that Luke Skywalker had managed to launch a mission into the Unknown Regions to locate Zonama Sekot. Hreven Karsh himself had tracked the Skywalker mission to Csilla, but lost them before they actually arrived at the Chiss homeworld. For his inability to halt the Skywalker mission, Hreven Karsh was ordered by Shimrra to cut off his arm and present it as an offering to the Supreme Overlord. (FH2)

this Wookiee was a member of Tojjevvuk's clan, and was one of the few to continue to hold a grudge against Chewbacca even after Tvrrdko rescinded the death mark against Chewbacca. However, Hronk also changed his mind about Chewbacca after the other Wookiee rescued him from an Imperial prison ship near the planet Formos, out from under the nose of Imperial Colonel Quirt. Hrosha-Gul
this Yuuzhan Vong yorik-stronha picket ship was abandoned during the fight for Esfandia, until it was captured and refitted by the Galactic Alliance. Its name literally meant "the price of pain," a name which Tahiri Veila immediately discarded. Jaina Solo renamed the vessel Collaborator, in honor of Tahiri's recovery from her mental battles with Riina Kwaad. (FH3)

Hrosma Tiger
a fierce, horned creature which uses the Force to hunt its prey, the Hrosma Tiger was native to the planet Baskarn. The single horn of this beast was used primarily for fighting among individuals, while sharp teeth and claws were used to bring down its prey. (SWJ2)

this was a Yuuzhan Vong phrase used when challenging an opponent. (FH3)

Hrul, Boganni
this man was the Senator from Ord Thoden, serving on the Galactic Senate during the years leading up to the Clone Wars. (HNN4)

Hrumph
this creature, native to the grassy plains of Naboo, was named for the grunting noise it makes. The hrumph was a large, gray-skinned herbivore whose head was dominated by four large horns and a pair of long, sensitive ears. They were easily domesticated, and were used by the Naboo and the Gungans as beasts of burden as well as a source of food. The average hrumph was quite nearsighted, but their irritable temperment made them a threat to charge when angered or frightened. Most hrumphs stood about three meters at the shoulder, and were surprisingly good leapers despite their bulk. (GF, WSW)

HS-1
this 330-meter long hospital ship series is reminiscent of the Nebulon-B frigate in shape, with an engine section and living sections separated by a long body tube. However, the HS-1 has a huge, boxy engine section and a small bridge area. It is manned by 20 officers and 200 crewers, and is regularly staffed by 380 medical personnel and 1,000 medical droids. The HS-1 can accommodate 2,000 patients. (PG2)

HS-14
developed and manufactured by SoroSuub, the HS-14 was classified as a hoverskiff, a cargo vehicle that operated on the same principles as a landspeeder. However, the nine-meter-long HS-14 was designed as a workhorse, capable of transporting up to 600 metric tons of cargo instead of beings and personnel. Note that the HS-14 is also referred to as a swoop bike. (TF)

this holdout blaster was produced by BlasTech, during the height of the Galactic Civil War. Despite its designation as a holdout weapon, the HSB-200 was nearly the size of a blaster pistol, mainly due to the fact that it used a dedicated power pack instead of a smaller energy cel.. (GFT, AEG)

this HoloNet viewing channel wa reserved to sporting events, during the last years of the Old Republic. While still the domain of off-beat or unusual sports, HSES4 was reserved for events with larger audiences and more popularity than HSES6. (HNN5)

this was a level of HoloNet programming assigned to sporting events. HSES6 was the lowest level signal available, and aired new or unusual sports. (HNN5)

H'sishi
this female Togorian joined Talon Karrde's smuggling operation shortly after the New Republic put down Dolph's bid for power on Almania. H'sishi had been living as a scavenger on the planet Torpris, eking out an existence by obtaining the choicest scrap material and selling it to the highest bidder. She helped Mara Jade escape from the palace of Chay Praysh, during Mara's attempt to rescue Sansia Bardrin. H'sishi sustained several injuries, and was taken to Karrde's medical facility after the rescue. As H'sishi healed, Mara told Karrde about the Togorian's resourcefulness, and Karrde agreed to meet with her and discuss a position in his organization. She had earned her way onto the bridge of the Wild Karrde shortly before the revelation of the Caamas Document, and saw minimal action as the ship's main scanner operator. When Karrde set out to meet Booster Terrik on the Errant Venture, the bridge crew kept the exact nature of Terrik's ship. When she recognized that a Star Destroyer was waiting for them after they dropped out of hyperspace, she reacted quite violently, but checked her emotions quickly to provide an accurate description of the ship. With this initiation behind her, H'sishi grew into one of the more competent members of Kaarde's bridge crew. (SOP, VOF, TFNR)

Hssiss
spawned from Lake Natth on Ambria, these mutated lizards had a limited ability to influence Force-sensitive beings around them. For this reason, they were also known as dark side dragons. Hssiss were found on many worlds of the Old Republic, although Jedi scholars disagree as to whether they were native to these worlds or simply brought there by the Sith. Many scientists claimed that the baseline stock of hssiss originated on the planet Stenness, while others speculated that they might have evolved on Korriban. (TOJ, TOJC, DSSB, KOTOR2)

Hsskhor
this was the capital city of the planet Trandosha. (HNN4)

Hsuberry Tree
this large, palm-like tree grows in the swamps of the planet Naboo. It is distinguished by its fuzzy berries, which - if rumors are true - can be fermented into life-extending elixirs. (GF)

HT Drone
manufactured by the Rodian corporation D-Tec, this droid can be equipped with legs or a small repulsor engine. Measuring just over a meter across, this clamshell-shaped drone was used to train bounty hunters. The HT was armed with a stun blaster and a variety of sensors, and was controlled by an RHTC-560 command unit. Swarms of HT drones were sent out into the field to track down Rodian hunters, but they could not stray more than fifty meters from the coRHTC command unit. (SPG)

HT Training System
this Rodian training system was desgined to help improve the skills of a hunter or tracker. The system consisted of six repulsorlift drones that were controlled independently, and could be used as targets or hunters, depending on their programming. (GMR1)

Ht-12
this was the desgination of Taim & Bak's double heavy laser cannon, produced during the last years of the New Order.. (EGV, SWDB)

HT-2200
Corellian Engineering Corporation's medium freighter, the HT-2200 was 54.8 meters in length. It had a unique, double-hulled forward cargo section which was mounted to a series of engines. It had a trimantium armored hull, which contributed to its low lift-to-mass ratio. Overall the HT-2200 wasn't nearly as maneuverable as its cousins, and was considered to be "pirate bait" to many spacers and a commercial failure to the businessbeings. Despite the perceptions, the HT-2200 was able to provide spacers with a variety of environmental options within each cargo hold, and innovation for CEC. The HT-2200 required a pilot and co-pilot to operate, and could transport up to eight passengers and 800 metric tons of cargo. It was armed with a pair of turret-mounted Queldor pulse laser cannons. HT-50
this form of transportation crate was manufactured by SoroSuub, and was equipped with a portable heater to keep cargoes warm during transport. (PSG)

H-Type
this was a sleek starship design created by the Nubians. It featured the cockpit and engine systems in a line with the drives, unlike the J-Type design that spread the engines out on wings. (TCG1)

Hua'Bal
this huge cavern was located beneath Mount Hugo, on the planet Lamaredd. Originally excavated by the Outer Rim Oreworks corporation as a command center for the mining operations on Lamaredd, Hua'Bal was later taken over by the native Menahuun as an outpost city. The name Hua'Ba; meant "Hidden Glory" in the Menahu language. The Menahuun took control of Hua'Bal after their original settlement - established after Hugo Bartyn nearly drove them to extinction - suffered from severe water pollution, some three generations before the Battle of Naboo. Hub, The
this was the name given to the wheel-shape network of tubes and struts that held the High Port station, found in orbit around the planet Muunilinst, together. (GORW)

Hub, The
this was the name given to the central section of Zirtran's Anchor. It was formed from the prototype station KV-29233-44B, and was bisected by the Spine Passage. (SWJ5)

Huba
a former chef who worked for Olag Greck, Huba was in charge of preparing a feast for one of Greck's Hutt criminal partners. Greck tried to poison the food, but didn't put enough in it. When the Hutt tried to execute Greck, he blamed the slightly-poisoned food on Huba and his team of chefs. They were enslaved by the Hutt and put to work in crystal mines until they managed to escape some months later. Huba and his chefs became pirates, in an attempt to raise enough money to repay Greck's treachery. Captain Huba was encountered by C-3PO and R2-D2 during their adventures on Kalarba, just prior to the Galactic Civil War. He was a grey-skinned humanoid with a thick neck and pointed ears. He attacked the Tharen Wayfarer to steal what he could, since Olag Greck's shipment's had stopped flying through Kalarba's ports. He was fond of a good Stenness Pie. When C-3PO and R2-D2 beat Ripter in a vump-shugga race, Huba refused to accept the Captain's medal, and so Muptupp voted the Captaincy to R2-D2. When the droids left, Huba recovered his rank. (DRO)

Hubba
a gourd found in the desert oases of Tatooine, the hubba provided the primary basis for the diets of Sand People and Jawas. These round, yellow fruits grew in the shadows of cliffs, and their tough, stringy inner fibers held a great deal of water. The water could be wrung or sucked from them, providing fluids to the eater. The name "hubba" was derived from a Jawa term which meant "the staff of life." Dried or fried slices of hubba flesh were consumed as snack chips, and dried fibers were also ground into a form of tobacco. The rind of the gourd was also dried, but was pulverized and sifted. Small crystals which were imbedded in the rind were removed, and the remaining rind was steeped in water to create a pungent form of tea. The blossoms of the hubba plant were often used to create mildly-scented bouquets. (TME, TJP, EGA, TG, P, DN2)

Hubba Heights
located between the western Dune Sea and the Xelric Draw on the planet Tatooine, this collection of tectonic ridges was named for the hubba gourds that grew in its shady crags. (IWST)

Hublin, Shea
this Imperial noble was famous throughout the galaxy for his ability to destroy Alliance cells. (CSWEA)

Hu-carjen tok!
this Yuuzhan Vong expression was used when an individual was subjected to intense pain. (FH3)

Hud
this was one of the more common surnames used by the Duros people. Like all such names, Hud was used only for official business, to indicate one individual from another when in the presense of non-Duros. The exact meaning of this ancient name was unknown, although it was assumed to be "hunter" or "forester". (GCG)

Hud
native to the planet Rutan, this quadripedal predator was distinguished by the black and red stripes of its pelt. The Rutanians took wild hud stock and bred hunting beasts which were strong and swift, and used them as mounts during kudana hunts. (SP)

Hudrow
this man once worked for Davik Kang, as the pilot of the Ebon Hawk, more than 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. Unfortunately, Hudrow was caught stealing some spice, and was imprisoned by Kang for his crime. He was later freed by the survivors of the Endar Spire, and provided them with the necessary codes to steal the ship. (KOTOR)

Hudsol, Bob
this Corellian served the Alliance as a Commander during the Battle of Yavin. His claim to fame is that he helped lead the Bothan resistance, and he had strong ties to the Bothan Spynet. (CCG2)

Hue
this huge, male Phlog worked as Jenna Zan Arbor's bodyguard during the time she lived on the planet Romin, several years before the onset of the Clone Wars. (JQ8)

this Sullustan entreprenuer started the Gryseium corporation in the clouds of Tyed Kant. He was quite comfortable there, until the Empire rose to power. The Emperor's pro-human attitudes forced Eib to sell the floating ranch and retire. (SN)

Huey
this dewback was maintained as a pet by Luke Skywalker's friend Windy, on the planet Tatooine, in the years leading up to the Battle of Yavin. Windy set the dewback free when it came time for him to mate, but Huey returned to Windy shortly afterward. Unfortunately, Huey was later killed by a hungry krayt dragon. (EGA)
