Channel 9 aired a third AOTC Connections video at the end of Return of the Jedi. Here's a report from Sampson:
The final Connections ends somewhat disappointingly, with little to no new Episode II footage. It follows the usual pattern, retelling almost the entire Original Trilogy, with an Episode II segment tacked on at the end.
The Ep II footage this week comprised of the transition from Ep I narrated as 'Anakin grew up to be a great Jedi Knight', and footage of Obi-Wan plummeting through Coruscant, to land somewhat gently, considering, on the back of Anakin's hot rod. Quite standard, from the first Connections segment, actually. There is the briefest of shots which I am convinced is slightly new, at least an extension of a shot we've already seen, and that is a shot from behind both Obi-Wan and Anakin from the rear of the speeder facing forward, as they maneuver through Coruscant traffic and buildings. it looks like it will create quite the motion-sickness effect on the big screen in the cinema.
Then, a smattering of 'Clone War' and 'Forbidden Love' trailer shots, and, finally truly official, the 'Floating Apple' scene. It is abbreviated, that is there is a transition as the apple floats across the table, just as in the German footage, but I can not imagine this actually being the final movie cut.
C3PO tells us that 'he fell in love with Senator Padme, against his Jedi vows'. Plenty of gratuitous Padme shots, smiling and laughing. The editor of this segment must be a fan. C3PO continues, 'They both fought valiantly in the opening battle of the Clone Wars', and so we are given more 'Clone War' shots of the Geonosis ground battle, as well as some of Padme firing and Anakin swinging his saber. Again, nothing new.
C3PO sums up that 'although their love was tragic, the galaxy is a better place for it, as they became the parents of Luke and Leia'. Fantastic. He then asides to Artoo that they 'go and recharge together.. come along...', and so ends what is presumably the final Connections segment we shall see. Until Episode III at least... I can't wait.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
