WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--Production Underway on Series' First 22 Episodes.
Justice is coming full-speed to MIPCOM 1999 via a new action drama starring Lucky Vanous in his first series lead role, film star Billy Dee Williams, and the most powerful, high-tech vehicle in the world.
18 Wheels of Justice, which just began production on its first season of 22 episodes in Southern California, will be distributed internationally by Fireworks International. The series is being produced by EYEMARK Entertainment, a production/distribution unit of CBS, and Stu Segall Productions, in association with Fireworks, Park Avenue Productions and IN-Motion AG. It will begin airing in North America in January on TNN cable network.
"We were convinced of the staying power of this project. Pure action series are what the international markets are looking for," said Adam Haight, President of Fireworks Entertainment. "We are also excited about teaming up with EYEMARK and look forward to the opportunities this relationship will bring."
In 18 Wheels, Vanous plays a Special Agent for the Department of Justice who, to escape the long and deadly reach of a cold-blooded crime boss, goes underground by hitting the highway. Disguised as a trucker, he tackles a Kenworth T2000 state-of-the-art 18-wheeler...and the problems of the people he meets along the way. Along with Williams, the series also stars G. Gordon Liddy and Lisa Thornhill.
Vanous portrays Michael Bowman, a Special Agent whose success - eight months' undercover in the chilling crime family headed by the ruthless John Calder (Liddy) - appears to have paid off with Calder's imprisonment. But the agent's achievement turns disastrous when the crime bo! ss orders the killing of Bowman's family and, with them, his world. Bitter and seeking revenge while knowing that he is the next target, Bowman enters the Witness Protection Program and disappears. But his is no drive off into the sunset: Bowman's means of escape is a state-of-the-art 18-wheeler, equipped with high-tech gadgets and complete living quarters. With a new name and new career as a long-distance trucker, Bowman could vanish into the highways - with Cie (Thornhill), a strong-willed technical wiz, and his tenuous sole link with his past life. But whenever he comes upon someone in trouble, his lifelong cop's instinct kicks in and he sets out to right the wrong. While his heroic actions and the visibility they might bring upset his former supervisor (Williams), they might also lead to actual assignments.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
