A Word from Hank Braxtan
Director of "FREDDY VS. GHOSTBUSTERS"
What can I say? I have always wanted to make a Ghostbusters movie, and I've always wanted to take a crack at a Nightmare on Elm Street as well. After seeing Freddy vs. Jason, I thought "Wow, that's the best movie I've seen theatrically in 10 years!" Not because it was Oscar material, but because the filmmakers gave the fans what they wanted - they didn't sell out. How many movies have you been to where people cheered and jeered the screen like it was Wrestlemania?
I thought it would be so great and so fun to cross two of my favorite franchises in a fan film. After all, Ghostbusters didn't really have any fan films, so why not start now?
Freddy vs. Ghostbusters just sounded like a blast. We spent about four weeks on twelve drafts of the script, a little over a month filming, and two months doing those cheesy 1980's special effects.
All that being finished, now comes the best part - letting people see it! This is why we make movies, right? Nothing makes me happier than someone having a good time watching one of my movies - it's what drives me to make them. The audience is what I have in mind everytime I set out to make a film. What will they want to see?
So that's it. I just hope you like the movie!
