Well I just got back from Roseville MN. It was cool R. A. Salvatore was very cool and funny. He joked around about a couple of things. He started out by saying he likes to write books that are fast reads and full of action. Then he said this (ATOC) script was made for him to write. Here are a few other questions (this is off memory)

Q: why / How did lucas ask you to write star wars.

A: LFL needed an Italian for a hit man, No really I work for DelRey when they started a new series that was meant to be easy for new readers to jump in with out having to read all the Bantam books they asked if I would write the first book. For the AOTC my name was put on a list then shortened by LFL and given to Goerge Lucas, and he chose him to do it. I was then given a script to read on election night and every time he read a scene he would look up at the T.V. and the country would have a different president. (then joking about interacting with Lucas he said) its like reading the work of a master, then I read his stuff.

Q: I asked how much if any involvement in the New Jedi Order, like any other authors contacting him?

A: I have no ties with New Jedi Order, Although some authors have contacted him to ask questions.

Me: I then said I wish that he was going to write the last hard cover novel

R.A. Salvatore said I had thought about doing it if they contacted me to do it, but they didnt. He also said he is very busy with his other stuff and they know that any way.

He also talked about the upcoming TV show, Its being worked on and when they signed they signed for the option to make a Feature film based on the Dark elf trilogy. He said there is a good chance a movie could be made.
