Lucasfilm Selects MovieTickets.com As StarWars.com's Advance Ticketing Service For 'Star Wars: Episode II Attack Of The Clones'

Tickets Available Now On StarWars.com Via MovieTickets.com's Online Ticketing Service

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MovieTickets.com today announced Lucasfilm, Ltd. has selected the company to serve as StarWars.com's online, advance ticketing service for the Summer 2002 blockbuster, 'Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,' which premieres in theaters worldwide on May 16, 2002. On May 7, 2002, as a convenience for fans who otherwise might have to wait in long lines for the film, show times and advance tickets will be available via StarWars.com.

MovieTickets.com was selected by Lucasfilm to provide listings via StarWars.com because, among other things, of its superior service and because it has the largest number of North American theater screens served. Its exclusive Internet ticketing agreements with leading theater exhibitors, including AMC Entertainment, National Amusements, Famous Players, Hoyts Cinemas, Marcus Theatres, and Consolidated Theatres. Additionally, MovieTickets.com recently announced that General Cinemas and Gulf States Theatres tickets will also be available on its site as a result of AMC Entertainment's acquisition of those exhibitors.

"MovieTickets.com's virtual box office enables Star Wars fans the convenience of purchasing tickets online and avoid a sell-out at their local theater," said Mitchell Rubenstein, Co-CEO of MovieTickets.com. "Advance ticket sales for highly anticipated films like 'Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones' have proven to be extremely successful for both the theater exhibitors and the film studios and MovieTickets.com is excited to be a part of this event." The online service will also include digital cinema locations. 'Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones', is the first major release to be shot entirely using a digital camera and will be shown on the largest number of digital screens ever.

To find digital theaters, all other theater listings, or to purchase tickets, users only need to go to StarWars.com. After they enter a postal code and select a local theater tickets can be purchased with any major credit card. Once the transaction is complete, fans simply go to the theater's box office to pick up tickets. All that's needed is the credit card used to make the purchase. In many of its markets, MovieTickets.com also offers at home ticket printing capabilities.
