Harry sends us more news about how Hong Kong is gearing up for AOTC:
AOTC is rated Category I here in Hong Kong, which is the equivalent of a G-Rating in the States. A Cantonese-language dubbed version will also be shown in some cinemas. There is not a whole lot of promotion, compared with TPM. A few double-decker buses carry banners, but nothing like "Spider-Man" which had subway stations with banners on all the walls and taxis with ads on their tops.
One of the TV stations, TVB Pearl, will be airing several "Behind the Scenes" ten-minute shorts every night this week at 11:30pm. The first one had interviews with the cast and crew as they briefly narrated the gist of the plot. It included a lot of footage not seen in the trailers, but maybe they came from the website video shorts on the making of AOTC (which I haven't seen).
Like in Taiwan, the Bossini clothing shops (which are Hong Kong-based) are selling AOTC and SW T-shirts (they were licensees with TPM too) but the designs this time aren't very cool.
I expect satellite TV provider STAR TV to have lots of video clips in their channels, as STAR is owned by Fox. The only two countries in Asia with digital projection cinemas, Japan and Korea, won't be showing AOTC until July, and it's probably because the soccer World Cup will be held in both countries starting May 31st.
