Rhea alerts us to a Hayden Christensen interview in an Malaysian English Daily. Here's an excerpt from the star-ecentral.com:
WHEN it was announced that Canadian actor Hayden Christensen had been cast in the all-important role of Anakin Skywalker for Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, most Star Wars fans around the world reacted with a resounding ?Who??
Virtually an unknown then, Christensen is now part of a sci-fi legacy that will ensure his name is remembered for years to come, regardless if he does justice to the role or disappoints. The fact that he is now considered the boy who will become the fearsome Darth Vader of the Star Wars saga is enough to ensure Christensen some measure of fame ? or infamy.
The 21-year-old actor, who was in Tokyo last week to promote Episode II, spoke to Section 2 about his Star Wars experience in an exclusive telephone interview from the Land of the Rising Sun.
First off: Darth Vader is an icon. How does it feel to step into the shoes (or in this case, boots) of one of the most recognised villains in movie history? ?It?s exciting, a lot of fun,? answered Christensen.
According to the young man, he enjoyed ?everything? about working on Episode II and that it was ?an amazing experience all around?. ?For the most part of it, it was getting to work with the people I did. George Lucas surrounds himself with people who are the best in what they do. It was a great learning experience for me. I?m very appreciative of that aspect of being involved in the film,? he said.
For Christensen, Episode II marks the first time that he worked with Star Wars creator and director George Lucas. Considering the fact that most of the main cast had worked with Lucas before, did Christensen have any trouble fitting in? No, said the actor.
