Today the fifth of six installments of George Lucas' epic science-fiction film series explodes on cinema screens around the world. And though the reviews for Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones have so far been mixed, betting against its success at the box office is probably a dumb idea. Say what you will about the movie itself or the performance of the actors, it is still the most successful franchise in film history. The original film still ranks behind only Gone with the Wind as the all-time box office champ, with an adjusted gross of more than $1 billion.
