Andre forwars us this unusual Star Wars article on stolen Episode II posters:
George Lucas named his new film Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones, but Australia is suffering an attack of the vandals, after more than 500 promotional posters for it were stolen across the country.
More than half the posters for 20th Century Fox's outdoor advertising campaign for the film have disappeared, with fans causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to bus stops and suburban sites around Australia.
At least 540 posters have been stolen, with fans using their own methods of force to access the limited edition, including smashing glass and bending metal frames.
"It makes us realise the length that fans will go to in their efforts to own a piece of this film," Fox films marketing director John Scott said. "Seeing the movie is not enough for these people. They're desperate to get their hands on these posters, but it's against the law and they're causing thousands of dollars worth of damage."
The campaign has four poster designs featuring key characters, and Mr Scott believes some hardcore fans have tried to get a copy of each.
