Force-Cast: June 12, 2009

Posted By Jim on June 12, 2009

Star Wars fans, hard-core and casual alike, all know the name Ralph McQuarrie. This legendary talent was the concept artist for the original Star Wars trilogy. It was Ralph who was the first to visualize the incredible ideas that George Lucas conceived for saga we all know and love. Join The Force-Cast as we pay tribute to this great man on his 80th birthday with The Ralph McQuarrie Birthday Spectacular! Jason and Jimmy Mac are joined by two very special guest co-hosts this week, from Team McQuarrie, its PAUL and ATHENA BATEMAN, who provide a look inside the creative mind of Ralph. Plus, we hear from the Star Wars pros who collaborated and/or were inspired by Ralph, including original Star Wars trilogy F/X wizard KEN RALSTON, Clone Wars Supervising Director DAVE FILONI, Clone Wars Concept Artist RUSSELL CHONG, and Prequel Concept Artist MARC GABBANA. If that?s not enough, hear icons from the world of Star Wars art leave well wishes for their mentor. He?s a special man and it?s a special Force-Cast, honoring everyone?s favorite Star Wars artist with The Ralph McQuarrie 80th Birthday Spectacular!!!
