Star Wars Day At The Sterling Heights Public Library In Michigan
Posted By Mike on June 15, 2012
Our friend Jon Leopold of the 501st sent word that the Sterling Heights Public Library in Michigan will be hosting their 5th annual Star Wars Day on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Here's the description from the library's website:
"The Dream Big, Read Summer Reading Program kicks off this year with a visit to one of the most imaginative film worlds in modern history: the Star Wars universe! Star Wars Day returns to the library on Saturday, June 23 with two sessions: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2:30-4 p.m.
Costumed characters from the 501st and Rebel Legions will be here for photos, fun and crafts, including a Star Wars mask-making station. New this year: Custom-made patches designed by Star Wars artist Katie Cook, which celebrate the library?s fifth annual Star Wars Day will be sold. A limited number of these collectible patches will be available for $5 each and proceeds benefit the Friends of the Sterling Heights Public Library.
Children and adults of all ages are welcome at this event but no strollers will be admitted. Registration is required for all attendees, including parents and family members, beginning Monday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m. Register online at www.shpl.net or by calling (586) 446-2644. Please note that the phone lines become extremely busy. Self-registration online is the quickest method. If you find you cannot attend, please call to cancel.
On the day of the program, check in at the Children?s or Adult Information Desk inside the main library. Staff will check you off the registration list and stamp your hand. Please do not go into the lobby until 15 minutes before the program begins to help prevent crowding. When the doors open, show the staff your hand stamp and you will be quickly admitted."

Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
