Our favorite franchise "had its highest toy revenue ever for a non-movie year in 2010 and the best toy revenue since Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," according to a press release posted on The Hollywood Reporter. "With sales of more than $510 million last year, Star Wars also maintained its position as the bestselling boys toy license in the U.S. for the third consecutive year, according to Lucasfilm and research firm NPD Group."
Lucasfilm cited the success of The Clone Wars in pushing toy sales and said that sales of non-toy products like "publishing, apparel, consumer electronics and housewares" were also reflecting increased consumer demand.
