Denver EP3 Charity Premiere Report Posted By Britany on May 15, 2005
Kagari sends in a report of the Denver, CO charity premiere for 'Revenge of the Sith', which took place Thursday, May 12th:
I attended the Episode III charity showing in Denver.
Although no actors from the movies came, the party itself was still excellent. Aside from people in costumes, they had two remote control life-size R2-D2 models that were controlled by Stormtroopers.
For the pre-party they had a bunch of expensive food and drinks, as well as a band playing their version of the Imperial March. A few news crews were there, including Colorado News 4, and NBC News 9, and others and I was fortunate enough to get interviewed by someone from the Associated Press while we waited in the line to the theater.
The silent auction they hosted was fairly decent, showcasing items such as life-size cutouts and framed artwork.
Around 7:15 PM MST they allowed us to enter the theater where tickets were stamped and each guest was given a gift bag that contained a Star Wars comic, keychains, a poster, some ads including mention of the 501st Legion, BK toys, and tickets to upcoming Colorado House of Blues concerts.
After everyone was seated, the presenting sponsors were introduced by Kim Christiansen and Kirk Montgomery from 9 News, which was then followed by a brief video about the Colorado Children's Campaign.
After much waiting, the movie finally began and the whole crowd cheered for the opening title. It was breathtaking. The movie was just spectacular and amazing in both visuals and sound... I would personally say that it goes beyond Episodes I and II combined. I highly enjoyed it, and I think it was well worth the $250 spent on the ticket and the trip down from my home in Cheyenne, Wyoming to see it.
It definitely lives up to the hype, and I can't wait to see it again on opening day.
