At midnight, the first official screening of Episode III took place in Tel Aviv.
A big crowd of loyal fans gathered in front of the cinema, TV interviews were taking place and familiar faces of fans from these nightly premieres of previous years were seen all around.
Despite the late hour, a few very young viewers were at the place sharing their excitement with fans (like me) who watched Episode IV on the big screen back in 1977.
I guess their whole perspective on the saga is different than the "older" fans. It is really amazing how these pictures cross generations throughout the years.
The crowd clapped and cheered the moment the lights went down and the "Lucasfilm" logo came on and the atmosphere was great. People laughed at the right places, while in other scenes people were so silent and "in the movie" you couldn't even hear popcorn crunches :).
The crowd cheered again at the end of the movie and devoted fans stayed seated until the last note of the end titles, holding on to the final seconds of film.
For the first time, the ending of a Star Wars film was lacking the "I can't wait till the next one" feeling...the saga is now complete.
