New Lost Stories Omnibus?

Posted By Adrick on September 27, 2008

Regular source Eddie has sent us the following quote from Leland Chee, keeper of the holocron, taken from the new Luke Skywalker: Last Hope for the Galaxy comic collection:

The Marvel UK series included stories from the US Marvel series plus original stories, including some that were originally published in Pizzazz magazine. Some of these original stories were reprinted by Dark Horse in Classic Star Wars: Devilworlds. In the stories from the Marvel UK series, Luke faced further peril on the planets Yavin, Foundry, Alashan, Akuria, Dantooine, Jerne, and Garn. And in one exceptionally strange tale, he confronted his darkest fears from the monkeylike Nightmare Demon on Lapez III. Dark Horse is planning a collection of these ?lost? stories and others in the near future.

What is interesting about this statement is Chee?s reference to Luke?s adventures on Yavin and Dantooine in Marvel UK. Since Dantooine and Yavin weren?t really featured in the Marvel UK exclusive stories, I believe he is actually referring to the rare Star Wars 3-D comics. If the 3-D comics and the Death Masque tale?which have never been collected before?are being reprinted in an upcoming omnibus, this would be exciting news indeed.

Of course, yours truly recently spent some time tracking down every issue of the 3-D comics and all the American reprints of the Marvel UK material (which are also pretty hard to find) so this announcement makes that extra effort kind of superfluous. But it?s good to know that these great stories won?t be forgotten!
