The backbone of the
NJO is five hardcover novels, with about 1 Star Wars year, and 1 actual year,
in between each. 16 paperbacks are scheduled to fill in the cracks and flesh
out the story, much as the Splinter of the Mind's Eye and Shadows of the
Empire have for Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi. The first hardcover, Vector
Prime, was released in October '99. It takes place 21 years after the Battle
of Endor, and laid the groundwork for everything else.
